Inter-school exchange partnership project-2018
THE “CYBERBULLYING-THE DIGITAL TSUNAMI” ERASMUS+ ΚΑ219 PROJECT:
AN EDUCATIONAL HANDBOOK

CHRYSANTHI PAPADIMITRIOU

5TH PRIMARY SCHOOL OF KARDITSA

AUGUST 2019
GREECE

THE “CYBERBULLYING-THE DIGITAL TSUNAMI” ERASMUS+ ΚΑ219 PROJECT: AN EDUCATIONAL HANDBOOK has been completed, having been the primary responsibility of the Greek partners of the Project, as stated in the Programme Guide. The arduous task of its writing up was carried out by the Greek coordinator of the project, Chrysanthi Papadimitriou and it is hoped that its bulkiness may compensate the reader/project partners, offering a pretty accurate picture of and documenting most of the activities that have been carried out so far.

It has been primarily written and compiled in accordance with the requirements of the Erasmus+ KA219 “Cyberbullying-The Digital Tsunami” project agenda as stated in the Inter-school Exchange Partnership Project Programme Guide. More specifically, it has been the primary responsibility of the Greek partners of the Project.

As stated in the Foreword of the Handbook"The present handbook aims at providing a stepping stone towards the dissemination of the particular EU programme resources and end-products as realised during its first year of operation, i.e. until August 2019. It is hoped that it may act as resource for participants and beneficiaries to record the educational activities having been carried out thus far...Finally, it is aspired that other interested parties may benefit from our Erasmus+ experience, thus contributing to and stimulating synergies in education, training and youth in general".

So, please indulge!

Note that each of the partner countries/schools will receive a print copy of the Handbook for their school library in our upcoming meeting in Hungary, Tapolca in October 2019.

Attitude Test on Cyberbullying

Planned activity:
Conducting an attitude test on Cyberbullying in relation to the Erasmus+ project "Cyberbullying-The Digital Tsunami". The students of the 5th Primary School of Karditsa attending the 4th, 5th and 6th grades (roughly over 150 students in total) will be filling out a questionnaire created via Google forms in order to examine their views and perpesctives towards cyberbullying, a major problem in today's digital era. To view the questionnaire follow the link given below:

The results of the survey will be published once the questionnaire procedure has been completed. The same/similar survey will also be carried out by our other Erasmus+ partners from France, Hungary, Turkey, Romania and Portugal. In the end, we will be able to compare student participants' responses across all countries, and to compare the data depending on age or cultural similarities/differences for instance. This procedure is believed to provide a stepping stone towards creating effective pedagogical practices aimed towards raising both educators' and mainly young people's awareness towards the issue of cyberbullying or digital harassment and online safety in general.

SAFER INTERNET DAY 2019

Today the 5th Primary School of Karditsa celebrated Safer Internet Day 2019 at the school ceremony hall. All the 4th, 5th and 6th grade primary pupils gathered to watch a plethora of educational videos and PPT presentations on the theme of Internet Safety and Cyberbullying.
This was not the first opportunity to raise pupils' awareness on both issues, due to our involvement in the Erasmus+ KA2 project entitled "Cyberbullying-The Digital Tsunami".
Pupils particularly enjoyed participating in an on-line quiz which aimed to assess their ability to distinguish between real and fake news. Their overall score was 81%, which shows that they were quite aware of falsified news or pictures.

Happy Safer Internet Day everyone!!!

Cyberbullying-Create no hate

Watch this very short but powerful video on cyberbullying...
Cyberbullying affects real lives- How would you feel?

Have you ever cyberbullied anyone? Have you ever been cyberbullied?
Have you ever witnessed cyberbullying?
100% of teenagers answer YES to at least one of these questions.
Play your part by using: STOP-BLOCK-TELL
STOP-Stop and think before posting something which may be upsetting to someone. Think about how you would feel if you were in their position;
BLOCK- If you are a victim of cyberbullying block or report the person who has been bullying you;
TELL-If you think you're being cyberbullied, report to a teacher or parent.

Are these photos real or fake?

It is very often the case that news we read or even the pictures we see on-line can be distorted, so we are not always 100% certain whether or not they are the real thing.
So, before jumping to rash conclusions, we should for example consider:
Is the source trustworthy/reliable?
Is it an official internet page?

Want to test yourself?

Take the quiz below available at:

to find out whether you can dinguish real photos from fake ones.
